Afterhours Pencil Poppers are a favorite for top water junkies up an down the coast.  Solid fish producing lures, these pencils often produce fish when others won't.  Their design and weighting make them an easy and effective plug to work - no matter what technique you impart, be it the traditional side-to-side thrashing, or a slower, walk-the-dog type retrieve.
